Watergate Mill
Ah, you've made it - well done! Amazing what a bit of initiative will yield! This, as you will see by the blue sign on the side is the old Watergate Mill and if you look up to the left you will see the castle (and if you can't see it, don't worry it will be on the next page). To the right you will see the bridge over the river Honddu and that leads me very cleverly to the explanation of Brecon's Welsh name. In most cases places beginning with Aber are by the sea because 'aber' means 'the mouth of', but Brecon is miles from the sea so how can that be?
