Brecon Waterfront

This neat row of houses must have drawn attention to many lenses, they will be even more colourful later when the daffodils are in full bloom. The canal from Penpedairheol, near Crickhowell reached Brecon in 1800 having begun in 1796 - quite an achievement when you consider that there were no JCBs and huge earthmovers in those days but the prizes were well worth having, after all what was the point of having vast mineral resources without the ability to get it to market.
