Brecon
was named after King Brychan Brycheiniog who ruled in the dark
5th/6th century and seems to have had time to father at least
27 children. Clearly a busy man who probably didn't realise what
he was busily doing, certainly not the consequences of it. Life
could hardly have been quiet and what about all that pocket money.
According to my information it seems that these aforementioned
sons and daughters became saints with many churches across Wales
dedicated to them. There were other children too, but I think
we have heard enough of that now!
These canal-side cottages face the basin and the canal meanders
its way through beautiful countryside all the way to Newport,
Gwent.
