On
a cold morning after Christmas I scraped the thick ice off my
windscreen and headed out with my camera, the sky was blue and
the air was still - a good day for photography. I had decided
on Laugharne as we were just coming the end of Dylan's centenary
year. The journey there gave me a foretaste of the hours to come,
everywhere was white with frost and the fields between Carmarthen
and St Clears were a delight - skeletal trees glistening white
in the morning sun.
Clear skies
and frosty scenes are all very well but that often comes with
a low sun, it certainly did on this morning and as it was -4c
outside my windscreen wash was frozen, luckily my side of the
screen managed to wipe clear. Not so good though as I drove into
Laugharne with parked cars on my left and the sun in my eyes,
but I made it safely. Such a relief to arrive at the car park
below the castle.
