You
can see this lighthouse
in the distance from many parts of the island but it is only when
you climb the ridge and walk towards the stone cross that you
can really appreciate it. Standing as it does on that lump of
a rock with its windy steps it is as if it is out of some fairy
tale or a Walt Disney film. Add to that the the path made up of
crushed sea shells running down to the steps and the magic is
complete. It was 8.30 when I left the island to walk back to the
car, by which time the sun was really quite hot and it was a very
red-faced me who reached the car that morning.
But
it was so lovely.
