A
canal boat is a pleasure on a warm summer's day, a slow cruise
in the sunshine with not much to worry about
except who will volunteer to open the next lock gates and who
will control the tiller. If you have booked for several days you
have that mooring by a lively hostelry to finish off the day.
But on a cold and crisp winter's day you want to be
wrapped up and on a brisk walk, smug in the knowlege that you
are beating the elements.
