The branch
of the canal between Brecon and Talybont was opened in 1800 so
this bridge has been watching the
comings
and goings for over 200 years. The canal was abandoned in 1962
and left to decay - we knew nothing
about leisure in those days, luckily and before it was too late
restoration work was done and now the
canal is an important amenity for all to enjoy. It is hoped that
the canal will be restored all the way to Newport.
A ray of light at the end of the tunnel - well, the bridge anyway!
