We are now on the final stage of the journey and the canal follows the road from the by-pass to the town centre, it is amazing how short a journey it seems when you are in the car, it is quite a different matter when your fitness has slipped during a determinedly wet winter. Never mind, from now on it will be sunshine all the way and by the autumn we shall be as fit as violins once more
