We are fortunate here in the Swansea area in that we have so many possibilities for the keen walker. The Brecon Beacons, Gower and Swansea Bay are the obvious options but the area's industrial past yields further opportunities. The canals which transported coal down to the docks still exist, although no longer in a continuous stretch. That is a problem to waterborne traffic, naturally, but to the walker there is much to be enjoyed.
