One
of the Unique Selling Points for the siting of a Cistercian monastery
was that it should be in a quiet spot away from human habitation,
this site was not, so the residents of Llanegwestl very kindly
moved to Stansty which is now part of Wrexham where they became
staunch supporters of Wrexham Football Club.
This you see here is the south wing and the upper part was the
monks' dormitory, below is the sacristy, the book cupboard, the
chapter house and the passage through to the abbots dwelling..
