Manual Labour

Another day and another image and this is a scene from the Slate Museum in Llanberis. In its heyday the area employed over 3,000 people and was largely self supporting. This is the foundry where all manner of ironware was cast, these two workmen are paid to stand perfectly still whenever a visitor enters the foundry and it plays havoc with their backs. But never mind there is a resident surgeon.
