This hotel,
so I am told is Llandudno's first hotel - it must have been very
lonely all on its own but I don't think that would have been for
long. Lord Mostyn (the present
Duke of Westminster is a descendant, I can't work out how
many greats it is) developed the town in 1848 and you could say
that it was just as well that he did because there were plans
to develop it as a port through which to export Wrexham's coal.
There was a film once called 'Sliding Doors' and it showed how
one small move can transform a life - a lady walks through a set
of sliding doors and has two choices, go to the right or the left.
Her whole future depended on her choice not that she knew that
at the time nor would she know later. So coal port or holiday
resort - which would you have preferred?
The hotel has a fascinating 'Local
boy made good' story so just click the link.
