As it proudly
states this is the Grand Hotel and stretching out behind it is
the pier, we'll see more of that later. Yes we had a few days
in Llandudno last month, the first real visit I've had for a long
time, and we stayed at this hotel.
Now Llandudno is bounded by two Norms, on the western side you
have Great Norm and on the eastern side Little Norm, in the middle
you have this sweeping crescent bay. Like the other great Welsh
holiday towns, Aberystwyth and Tenby, the promenade is backed
by large and proud hotels.
Stubborn local legend insists that Alice in Wonderland was inspired
by this town but apparently there is no record of Lewis Carrol
paying a visit although perhaps Alice Liddell possibly visited.
