The village
of Abercastle is just a few miles away from Trefin and is quite
charming so I trundle carefully along the road approaching the
car park, it is just wide enough with a drop to a river on the
right hand side. The car park is small but not crowded, I park
facing the exit just in case it fills up and shelter a while for
the hailstorm to blow over. I know that there is a path branching
off the Coastal Path leading to this cromlech which I have heard
of but not yet seen. I was not expecting miracles because the
sun had barely showed itself, it was easy to find and there I
was walking around it judging the best angle when a couple of
walkers arrived and hung about behind it. Infuriatingly the sun
chose just that moment to burst through and I silently willed
them to move away. They did eventually and the sun stayed out.
My lucky day!
