Newport, Monmouthshire is a bit like the Newcastle of south Wales (just like Birmingham is said to be the Venice of the midlands). The river Usk runs through and is crossed by many bridges, some modern, some older but all very distinctive. At night with a full river the Transporter Bridge is quite spectacular.
