In
November 1934 Dylan moves to London to expand his horizons and
it is here that he developed his rather wild life. Of course he
had no money for accommodation but that never seemed to be a problem
for him - he was never too proud to scrounge. Mervyn Levy, William
Scott and Fred Janes, members of the 'Kardomah Gang' lived in
a flat in Chelsea so that is where he went and scraped a little
income by reviewing books. The generous trio were never successful
in extracting rent from Dylan so they would sell the reviewed
books to raise some money. They were not exactly wealthy themselves.
Dylan assumed the role of a wandering bard staying with anyone
who would put him up and also put up with him.
