Mumbles is having a new lifeboat but because of the increase in technology lifeboats have got bigger. So much bigger in fact that the present lifeboat station is not large enough to house the replacement hence the construction of the new station at the end of the pier. The pier itself is enjoying a renovation too as is the area round about so hopefully, by autumn 2014 we will begin to be able to enjoy new facilities at this popular destination.
