Nicholaston Pill runs onto the beach at the halfway stage with a convenient bridge thoughtfully installed to keep your little feet dry. The contrast before and after the bridge is great, upstream the river is held back and provides beautiful reflections in the still water whilst downstream it spreads widely on its long route over the sands to the sea. I stayed here for quite a long time enjoying the tranquility and decided against proceeding to the Oxwich Bay Hotel and refreshment, somehow being indoors held little appeal. Anyway I had my eye on a flock of birds on the shoreline which I thought I could do something with.
