A
different view of the Three Cliffs and one that rather reminds
me of a recent visit to Lanzarote, that island in the Atlantic
where caravans of camels are a common sight if you are in the
right place. Indeed perhaps these humps were indeed camels on
a journey who foolishly looked back and were turned to rock -
now there's a thought (albeit silly!). The camels in Lanzarote
were used as horses in the old days but by now they are a tourist
attraction and we found it difficult to resist the temptation
of taking a ride on one. Fun, undoubtedly, but very uncomfortable.
How anyone could cross a desert on one I really cannot imagine,
perhaps the secret is to pack your belongings on its back but
walk with it!
