Restoration
of the cottage was completed in 1999, most of the original stone
was scattered around so it was just a case of fitting it all together
- that makes it sound very easy but I don't suppose it was. It
is run by the Friends
of Swtan and on the day of my visit the young man doing his
curating duties for the day was very helpful and informative.
There
is an excellent video with clips of bygone days, an interview
with a man who lived there as a boy, and the story of the restoration.
It was a strange feeling to be watching a flat screen whilst sitting
in a room which otherwise looked as it did 100 years ago - but
very enjoyable.
