This is always a good place to start the day, particularly if you reach here by way of Menai Bridge and Beaumaris. The Strait is always dramatic with the backdrop of Snowdonia and it is guaranteed to enthusiastically place you in photography mode. Go to Penmon, past the Priory and to the far south-eastern point of the island where you will see the rounded mass of Puffin Island in front of you, to its left the sea swirls around the lighthouse which keeps time with its bell, this sign tells sailors in no uncertain terms to take heed.
