CADW
the Welsh body responsible for historic buildings and monuments
have a very ingenious device for a DIY running commentary. You
wind a handle for a few seconds and, hey presto! a voice, in Welsh
or English (depending on which rotation you use) gives you historical
facts. At Tinkinswood it told me about the existence of this cromlech
so I just had to go and see. It stands high in the middle of a
field. It too has legends attached - surprise, surprise! One legend
has it that the
wedge-shaped capstone spins three times each Midsummer's Eve.
This I must see! I have made a note in my diary!
Note:
the links for this and Tinkinswood take you to an interesting
site called The Stones of Wales
