...
I had walked this route several times before so when I reached
the gate at the top I knew that the path went straight on, so
I did too and was very surprised to immediately find myself up
to my thighs in snow so I had to pick my way around the drift.
This was fun. By the time I was returning, which was only about
20 minutes the wind had drifted snow over my thighprints ready
to catch the next person. Tricky little blighter, Nature!
The journey back had me walking into the wind and I saw the world
through streaming eyes, I reached the car, chucked my walking
clothes into my mobile wardrobe and sat in the car. That was great.
I promised myself a small, heavily peated whisky when I got home
and I am pleased to tell you that I kept my promise - twice!
