I am now back
in the van and driving along the minor road following the south
bank of the Menai when I come across this old, windswept church
in the middle of a field. The wall around the churchyard is circular
which indicates that the site is that of an old Celtic Church,
I tuck the van in against a stone wall and go and take a look.
The wall is squared off at the back but there are modern graves
at that end so it is likely that the graveyard has been extended.
There is a plaque on the wall to say that it has been taken over
by 'The Friends of Friendless Churches' a charity that preserves
such buildings. I go in to have a look. I make an attempt at taking
a photograph but it is too dark, next time I visit I shall bring
my flash with me. To learn more about it click
