I wish I could
have brought you some images from the top of Snowdon but as Murphy's
law proclaims the weather was a little bit dubious on the Thursday,
and that was the designated day. The tickets had been ordered
in advance and when I went to claim them from the booking office
I was told that the wind at the summit was strengthening and it
was misty. There was no certainty that the train would go further
than half way so I had the option of cancelling my tickets, but
of course I didn't. The ride up was very interesting because we
were facing the back and the climb up was very steep but we went
no further than the half way point. Some friends who had gone
up on a previous train said that they had difficulty standing
up in the wind so in the circumstances we had no quarrel - and
we got a partial refund.
