Included in the cost of the trip was a one-way ride on the new Welsh Highland Railway which meanders slowly through the beautiful scenery of Snowdonia to Beddgelert and on to the terminus at Porthmadog. There is something special about a train ride but combine it with Snowdonia's scenery and it becomes heavenly. There are many small gauge railways in Wales so, plenty to choose from. Don't leave it too late in life to enjoy them, remember - there is so much to see and yet so little time!
