Such a vast
change from that industrial era, Saundersfoot has, over the last
50 years, grown both in size and popularity. It is a completely
different holiday resort to its Victorian neighbour Tenby and
there is little point in comparing the two, nevertheless the transformation
from a hundred years of dirty industry to the proud seaside resort
it is today is surely to be recognised as a great achievement.
Very little coal is now mined in the south Wales valleys, tips
have been removed, nature is quietly healing the scars and beauty
is to be seen once again. Their day will come too!
