This is Pwlldu's
lovely beach, as you can see it is very quiet - just one other
person. From every direction it takes an effort to get here, it's
not difficult by any means but it is not the sort of place you
just 'pop down to'. We are used to seeing beaches protected by
stones, Amroth and Newgale in Pembrokeshire are cases in point
but this beach has shaped those piles of stones into dunes in
quite a dramatic way.
Sit on a rock here and try as you may you would find it difficult
to imagine this small bay as a busy port, but it was. There was
an open export trade as well as a rather covert import trade.
