That tiny dot at the end of the point is Whiteford lighthouse,
disused since 1920, it stands in deep water at high tide and suffers
the pounding of waves on stormy days. It still stands as perpetual
evidence of the standard of construction during the Victorian
era, at low tide you can walk out to it and gaze at its majesty.
But check the tide tables and watch the tides!
A circular walk can be enjoyed by returning through the pine-wood
covered sand dunes - take a picnic and liquid refreshment.
