Yes, its a
breeze, or so the owner of this boat claims. He has named it 'Awel'
(you'll have to take my word for it as yellow letters on green
do not do not provide sufficient contrast for easy reading) this
means 'Breeze'. Behind is the Penmaenpool toll bridge, built in
1879 to cater for a totally different form of carriage. The bridge
further down at Barmouth serves the railway, cyclists and walkers
but the poor motorist has a 15 mile journey to get to the other
side. Using the toll bridge 4 miles can be saved with the added
attraction of a bit of excitement as the boarded roadway rumbles
beneath the car wheels.
